Tropospheric H2CO columns are derived at BIRA from GOME, SCIAMACHY, GOME-2 and OMI observations using a DOAS technique combined with radiative transfer calculations, using IMAGES chemical-transport model results as a-priori information.

Disclaimer

The H2CO products distributed on TEMIS are based on scientific developments performed at BIRA. These developments participate to a long-term strategy aiming at providing consistent H2CO products from multiple-sensors. Optimal settings and retrieval options are selected with this objective in mind. However BIRA do not take any formal long-term commitment on data delivery. Products are generated on a best effort basis, upon availability of resources (as listed in the acknowledgements). Accordingly the data quality control does not conform to any formal standard, but rely on direct interactions with TEMIS users and results of scientific publications. This science-driven approach is used to continuously improve the quality of the H2CO products.
